Psalms 18:5-6,19: The cords of Sheol surrounded me; The snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God for help; He brought me forth also into a broad place; He rescued me, because He delighted in me. God allows suffering so we will know Him better. Job came to know God much better after he had gone through suffering.
Genesis 45:4-5: Now do not be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here, for God sent me before you to preserve life.
Romans 8:28: And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
James 1:2-4: Consider all joy when you encounter trials.
