Hope as an anchor – Daniel Thomas

Daniel Thomas
Hebrews 6:19: The hope that we have as an anchor of the soul which enters within the veil. Always living with a hope that Jesus will redeem me at His coming. The veil has been rent where Jesus has entered and we need to keep looking at Jesus. Lay hold of the hope as an anchor. Hebrews 7:24,25: Jesus is able to save forever (to the uttermost) those who draw near to God through Him because He always lives to make intercession for them. Romans 5:8-10: God demonstrates His love toward us in that while while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. 1 Tim 1:15,16: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners among whom I am foremost of all. Yet for this reason, I found mercy, so that in me as the foremost, Christ Jesus might demonstrate His perfect patience. Jesus will not leave us halfway but will complete the work He has started. Hebrews 10:22,23: Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering. We don’t live by what we see but by faith. The righteous will live by faith as it says in Hebrews. Romans 4:18: In hope against hope, Abraham believed.

Everyday we must live in the hope not only on Sunday. 1 John 1:5. The hope that we have depends on if we walk in the light. It is a living hope and it comes when I have clear conscience. Whenever my conscience is not clear, I confess my sin. Then we have confidence to approach him, then I have living hope and faith. Romans 5:5. Hope does not disappoint as Holy spirit has poured out love in our hearts. It always encourages us. So hold on to the hope that God can save me to the uttermost. Do I have the desire to decrease and Christ increase in me. I want to have desire to be unknown so that christ is seen in me, not only on Sunday but everyday.

1 Samuel 17:37: David said the Lord who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine. We need to have this hope as an anchor. David’s hope was not in himself but in the Lord. 17:43-46: I come to you in the name of the Lord and I will strike you down. God will give you into my hands. We need a lot of strength by the empowering of the Holy Spirit.

Having the love of the Lord and not becoming cold. Hosea 11 says God cannot stop loving us. God will fill us with His love. We cannot produce love. Isaiah says God will do the work in us. He will lead us by the hand. He who has started the good work will complete it. He will draw me towards himself and will fill me with His love.

We need to have a steadfast hope. Romans 4:18: In our inability God works in us just like in Abraham’s life. Romans 4:19,20: Abraham believed when his body was as good as dead, that what God has promised, He was able also to perform. A steadfast hope on Jesus Christ who is the anchor of our soul. Hebrews 10:23,24: Hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for He who has promised is faithful.
