Love of the world – Daniel Thomas

Daniel
God has a godly jealousy for us. He wants us to have a simple pure devotion to Jesus since we are engaged to Him. James 4:4,5: Friendship with the world is hostility with God. Contrast between the spirit of the world versus the Spirit of Christ. We cannot have the world as well as Jesus. Luke 17:32: Remember Lot’s wife. Parable of the wise and foolish virgins. Romans 12:1,2: Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. Renewing my mind to be different from the world. Philippians 3:18-20: Enemies of the cross of Christ. God is their appetite. Mind is set on earthly things. James 4:8: Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 1 John 2:15,16: Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the boastful pride of life is not from the Father, but is from the world.

Zephaniah 3:17: “The LORD your God is in your midst, A victorious warrior. He will exult over you with joy, He will be quiet in His love, He will rejoice over you with shouts of joy.
